Fascinator Making

Ladies Day at the Galway races is just around the corner, and the summer season of weddings and fancy outfits is in full swing. It’s the perfect time to create your very own design for a fascinator/headpiece to complement your best dress.

This fabulous class on July 18th, “Flowering Garden”, will be hosted by designer and creator of hats extraordinaire, Lana. She has experience creating collections of clothes and accessories, working as an official stylist for events and festivals, photo modelling and TV presenting. She will be sharing her best kept secrets for creating the perfect headpiece to suit your style. Lana’s bubbly energy and enthusiasm for fashion and design are sure to make this class extra special.

All materials are provided for the class. Dive into a treasure trove of millinery fabric, feathers, threads, fabric flowers, beads and more. Participants will decorate a preformed sinamay base to create your own gorgeous unique headpiece to take home. The class is suitable for total beginners. Basic sewing skills are a bonus, but not essential. If you are matching an outfit, feel free to send us a photo of your colour scheme in advance and we will make extra sure to have the best colour palate on hand for you to select materials from.

Let’s all don some lovely bright and/or floral clothing for this crafty event, and get making some beautiful vibrant headwear. There will be a special prize for the winner of our ladies craft day ‘Best Hat’ competition, to be chosen by Lana, once your creations are complete!

About Our Workshops

How long is the workshop?
This workshop lasts for two and a half hours.
Do I need to bring anything?

Everything you need to make your bracelets is provided, so you just need to bring yourself. Closed toe shoes are recommended, to avoid dropping any sharp or heavy things on unfortunate toes!

Feel free to bring any beads of your own that you might like to incorporate into your bracelets, or any bracelets you have in need of repair or a restring, as we may be able to fix them.

Where is the workshop held?
At our lovely shop in Galway city – find directions here
Can I keep the bracelets at the end?

Yes, you get to keep and enjoy your bracelets after the class!

How many bracelets do I get to make?
Most people make between three and four bracelets in our two and a half hour class.
What if I need to cancel/change my booking?

You can change or cancel your booking with a full refund up to 48hours before the workshop. If it is less than 48hrs before the workshop, you can transfer your place to another person if you have somebody who would like to go instead of you.

We may be able to provide a refund for your place even up to the day of the booking, if we are able to find somebody to take your place, so please get in touch by phone (text is good!) if it is within 48hrs of the workshop, and we’ll do our best to fill the spot.

It’s the last minute and my sister/friend/Mum would like to come along and join me? Is this possible?
If you have someone you would like to bring along on the day of the workshop, feel free to get in touch by phone/text and check with us, as we may have a last minute spot available should someone else cancel – there’s no harm in asking!
Can we have a private group workshop?

Yes! We are happy to schedule a workshop on a date that suits you, even at short notice, if you have a group of 6 to 12 people to accommodate. Feel free to get in touch by email or phone for group rates, and let us know if you would like to include some wine/tea/chocolates along with beading kits if there is an occasion to celebrate!

Someone under the age of 18 would like to attend, can they?
Yes, absolutely, this class can be attended by people as young as seven. However, anyone under the age of 14 does need to be accompanied by an adult. We use tools including pliers and wire cutters, so we need you there to watch over and help them.
